just got yelled at for parking in front of my house

I live in a neighborhood with a relatively wide street, not too narrow. I typically park on the street just because of convenience with work schedules. I park in

front of my *own house*, close to the curb. I carry lots of stuff in and back from work so I like keeping my car closer to the house.

Today, after getting out my car, my neighbor just yelled at me. She said she's told me repeatedly not to park there. For context, my neighbors driveway is right across from the street parking spot from

my house. She says she's old, can't see properly or look over her shoulder, and struggles to back out when I park there. She said "you're what 20 something and I'm in my 60s", told me I'm not

considerate, that I should understand this is a neighborhood. I told her it's public parking, she retorted that the whole street is available. I said I don't like parking in the other spots up front or behind, because

the owners of those houses also park there and she goes "RARELY." She has picked up this argument before one last year, but I just resumed parking where I usually do since 1) it's my own house, 2) it's public parking.

Am I just losing my mind and being a young, inconsiderate bh, or is this just not a reasonable ask?? I'm also very much a sensitive person lol so I'm

upset about being yelled at and don't think it's okay to talk down on someone just because you're older.

Edit: Multiple people asking why she doesn't back into her driveway ― she tells me parking on the street makes it hard for her to back in or out.

I see a lot of people in the comments also saying they have a similar problem to my neighbor on their narrow streets. For context my street has parking on

both sides with cars, buses, and trucks being able to comfortable drive between them. Essentially a 3-lane road in width****

Edit 2**: I am going to just park elsewhere to avoid issues with her. I don't even have a huge issue with the act of moving my car further at this point, I just did not find the way she talked to me to be necessary and I needed to bh on here lol.

Prairie Mermaid I'm in my 60's, have neck issues and wouldn't dream of telling my neighbours to not park on the street in front of their house. Perhaps she should back into her driveway seeing she has trouble backing out of it.

kingcasperrr If she can't reverse properly due to mobility then she needs to either modify her car with a camera or mirrors or reconsider driving.

pryzzlicious She definitely could have asked you, not told you, to not park there. If she's so worried about backing out of her driveway, maybe she should back IN to her driveway when coming home so

she can simply pull out. Or maybe she can park in front of her own house instead of the driveway. Or maybe, just maybe, she should take some driving lessons and learn how to f ' ng drive.

My husband is 61, and he has zero problems backing in and out of our driveway, despite us living on a narrower street, and having our driveway be directly across from the front of our neighbor's house.

StormbringerGT She has every right to ask. You hace every right to decline.

West-Albatross464 "She says she's old, can't see properly or look over her shoulder, and struggles to back out when I park there" So she shouldn't have a licence then if she can't do basic driving skills.

JulsTiger10 I'm in my mid-60s. I realize that some people consider that old, but I don't feel particularly old. Your neighbor offends me deeply.
